Blog 6

Hello dear classmates and teacher. Welcome to my blog.

There are many challenges to completing a graduate degree. Find the right time first, as there are many external factors to address. One of those factors is money, for example. Another would be to figure out the things that would waste my time and attention in completing graduate school. And many more things, since, in my case, I am thinking about a postgraduate degree abroad.

When it comes to personal challenges, embarking on a specialization is quite an adventure. I'd probably like to research political campaigns.

I would like to do it when I have already worked as a journalist for a couple of years or on some projects. I would not like to finish my degree and immediately continue studying a postgraduate degree. I would feel a lot of pressure doing it and the routine would tire me out.

One of the obstacles I see is money, but there are also a lot of scholarships. Fortunately, I have Spain nationality and could save a lot of money with the benefits that I have if I decided to do postgraduate studies in that country.

The positive is that I would be close to my family, and that there are also many good universities in Barcelona, from time to time I am interested in Pompeu di Fabra. Thus, my family was also able to support and accompany me in this transfer process, to have a calm emotionality.

I would like all of us to have the conditions to do a postgraduate degree in the place we want, even more so when the job offers are very fixed in the CV :(

Bye!

Academic Challenges

 Hello class!

I think the biggest challenge in learning from home is the various situations we live in. Both in our home and the new normal after the pandemic.

One of the main challenges to face the semester online has been to be able to carry it out with my young son, because at birth I froze one year, and the next was the pandemic. So, in addition to her care, I have been very far from being present. Disconnected.

As a result, learning at home (postpartum) coupled with the unique conditions of the pandemic have made my academic year nearly impossible. Living alone, with home care, baby (a lot of noise, little concentration), paid virtual work in parallel, mental health, non-functioning of face-to-face nurseries: chaos.

What I enjoyed the most was the ease and flexibility of both the teachers and the semester. They have been very empathetic with the various situations. Making friends online has been fun too. Meet after so long behind the screen hahaha

What has bothered me the most has been the difficulty in accessing knowledge. Certainly, it is not learned in the same way through a screen. Both in English and in practical subjects :(

Bye!!! <3

My dream job

Hi everyone. I should mention that this is the most difficult blog to write, since I want to be and do everything. As in childhood, I retain the spirit and energy of versatility. Or maybe I'm very dreamy.

I have two areas of interest in which I will look for jobs that accompany me in my life: research and travel. Let me explain ... On the one hand, I am attracted to all the jobs in which I can contribute ideas, studies and my brain in general for social research, always from action and social help. With my career, journalism, I contribute with communication knowledge in organizations, investigations, and more. Likewise, she could be a sociologist, anthropologist, teacher and a host of other things. In fact, I studied Lactation Counseling in parallel to contribute to studies, education and support in sexual education and motherhood.

On the other hand, as I mentioned, those jobs that link me with travel attract my attention. I would like to be a flight attendant at some point in my life or, if I had not had my baby, I would have applied for a Working Holiday. If you can better combine both concepts (research and travel). But if not, I will have many different jobs that fill both spaces. Since for me journalism is only a bridge that gives me thousands of tools for the different worlds in which I can enter.

All jobs I imagine with some flexibility, happy, in many different environments. Ideally doing work "en terreno" and not in an office. As mentioned before, I would love to work while traveling. About salary, I am only interested in having enough to pay for basic things: rent or dividend from my house, general accounts, my son's expenses. The more I earn, the better. But I am satisfied with subsisting in a good way.

The Role of Technology in my Profession and Life

Hello class!

My relationship with technology is really dependent. I think it is the only addiction i have. It's a bit sick. I don't even live without my phone.I had access to technology from a very young age, when I was four years old I made my first email and I remember everything about that moment because I was so excited. The reason why my family let me have access since I was little, was because my mother moved to Spain and the only way to have communication was by e-mail or video call. So, it was justified hahaha. Later, I learned to play The Sims, and my caregiver made a calendar with schedules so that the whole family could use the computer, since there were seven of us in the house, and I used all my time playing The Sims.

Although i was very close to the computer since I was little, and later enjoyed doing school work on the computer, that is not my favorite piece. The cell phone is my favorite piece since it came into my life and changed everything. Much simpler, smaller and more fashionable. The first thing I did when I had one was download music hahaha between colleagues we transferred old reggaeton songs with the "infrared" of the cell phone "5,200" that I will leave in the images. I had it when I was twelve. Many of my classmates had a phone since I was eight years old, but they still prevented me from using technology.

I currently work with technology. I work in a Deputy campaign, therefore from my phone I organize media management, design, meetings, communication with volunteers, network management: everything. I also entertain myself with technology, I watch TikToks before going to sleep hahaha or I watch series and movies with the platforms. I also use many applications to organize myself. I have an application to control my menstrual cycle ahahha literally my whole life is in technology.

As an extra comment, in one of my projections in the following months, I have the goal of reducing my consumption of social networks, it is something that I dislike, being so dependent

Blog 2 - The Best Concert/Holiday Ever...

Hello class! In this blog I will tell you about my trip to Istanbul, Turkey. I traveled in february of last year. I feel cold just remembering it! It was the vacation I had with my partner and our son of, at that time, a year.

One of the most beautiful places that I have visited in my life was Turkey during the vacations that I will relate. The words I use to describe this country are: crazy, pompous and particular. Her beauty is fascinating, but I felt like a stranger.

I went on this trip with my partner and our son. We had to carry my baby in a baby carrier since it was very cold, in fact it was snowing. And also, because it made me insecure not to see children on the street (because of the culture). The few times that I took it without a baby carrier, Turkish men used to invade our space a lot (from the surprise of seeing a baby outside the home) and tried to carry it, give it food, etc. Without my permission.

Being there I went to visit the Grand Bazaar. The Turks are the leaders of the trade. The art of selling is truly a skill. They have a solution for all the problems you may have to buy. What was most observed were decorative rugs and home decorations in general terms. I bought a set of cups to drink tea.

They also sell many spices, chocolates, and sweets. It is a giant place. And no woman is seen. Every now and then they had to stop the sales to pray. It was quite eye-catching. I also visited la Mezquita Azul, la Mezquita Santa Sofia, Mini-Turk (a miniature tour of turkey), el  Museo de Transportes, El Gran Bazar Egipcio, the Asian part of the country, among others. All fascinating.

Hi everyone!

The country that I would like to visit is Cuba. Specifically La Habana. What I like about this country is the vibe it transmits; freedom, joy, simplicity.

I want to visit Havana and walk through the streets during the day, afternoon and night and enjoy the essence of the environment that I mentioned. I want to hear the stories of people in a bar while playing music (cuban jazz, i love it), drinking ron (i love it too hahaha) or mojito, feeling the Caribbean air, dancing. Seeing how everything moves from art. I want to visit each area that allows me to observe and enjoy socioculture.

I would like to visit the art centers: El Museo Nacional Bellas Artes, El Gran Teatro de La Habana, El Museo de la Revolucion, etc. Go to enjoy a piece of theater, ballet, go listen to jazz. Also visit the Casco Historico and architecture of La Vieja Habana. If I have the money, I would visit Varadero hahaha.

I learned about Cuba while traveling to other countries. It unites the characteristics that I have rescued from each country that I have visited previously. I consider that it has a total wealth. I also feel it with Mexico and Colombia. From there I have investigated about the country.

There I would like to nourish myself with stories that allow me to write about them. I am attaching a good video to learn a little more about Cuba.
